Local campaign group "Wrexham Veggies" are challenging pubs, restaurants and cafes to meet the demands of the growing numbers of vegetarians and vegans by providing a choice of good quality veggie food. In a recent government survey a total of 5% of the population described themselves as vegetarian or vegan1, yet many food outlets have little or no choice for vegetarians and vegans are often ignored completely. Growing concerns about animal welfare, healthy eating and the environmental impact of the food we eat seem certain to lead to a year on year rise in veggie demand. |

Victoria Square in Birmingham yesterday was packed full of veggie goodness!  On Saturday May 16th Birmingham saw the UK's first Veggie Pride event and we're pleased to report that it was a huge success thanks to the amazing efforts of grassroots campaigning group Midlands Vegan Campaigns (MVC).
